I have always been mesmerized by the English language. Ever since I was in in elementary, English has held a special place in me. It's not that I don't love our very own language, Filipino, but there is such a curiosity that only the English language can satisfy. I need not account here how many experiences have I had with the English language that made me more attached to it. Some of these were worth keeping that up to now I still remember them pretty clearly.
And so when I chanced upon these awesome trivias about some English words while I was browsing messages in our Yahoo Groups (SSE61), I did not think twice in posting it here and share it for everyone to see. Enjoy and have fun!!

Some of these items I already knew, but what the heck, at least you will learn too.
'Stewardesses'

is the longest word typed with only the left hand
'Lollipop'
is the longest word typed with your right hand.
(Bet you tried this out mentally, didn't you?)
No word in the English language rhymes with
'Month', 'Orange', Silver', or 'Purple'.

'Dreamt'
is the only English word that ends in the letters 'mt'.
(Are you doubting this?)
Our 'Eyes' are always the same size from birth,
but our 'Nose and Ears' never stop growing.
The sentence:

A 'Shark' is the only fish that can blink with both eyes.
A 'Snail' can sleep for three years.
(I know some people that could do this too.!)
'Almonds'
are a member of the peach family.
An 'ostrich's eye'
is bigger than its brain.
(I know some people like that also)
Babies
are born 'without kneecaps'.
They don't appear until the child reaches 2 to 6 years of age.
